¿Puede un género nacido de la negación y la brutalidad cambiar el mundo? Para Rolling Stone, la respuesta es un rotundo sí. En su más reciente especial por el 50 aniversario del debut de los Ramones, la revista ha curado una lista de los 100 mejores álbumes de punk de la historia, y aquí te desmenuzamos el listado.

Para elegir los 100 mejores álbumes de punk de la historia, Rolling Stone tuvo esto en cuenta:

• El ranking parte de la premisa de que los Ramones fueron el "Año Cero", pero reconoce que el punk es un fenómeno de largo aliento. Por ello, incluyeron artistas que, aunque no se autodenominaban "punks", sentaron las bases ideológicas y sonoras.
• Se premió la capacidad del punk para transformarse. El listado incluye desde el pop-punk multiplatino de Green Day y Blink-182 hasta las visiones existenciales de The Mekons.
• La curaduría se basó en la cita clave de Kurt Cobain: "El punk rock debería significar libertad". Este es el eje que justifica la inclusión de bandas tan diversas como Black Flag, Minor Threat y Bad Brains.
